Counselling
Counselling may address a range of goals including improved well-being, symptom reduction, emotional regulation, behavioural concerns, parenting psychoeducation and social skills. Counselling can be delivered through in-office appointments, telehealth platforms, within the school environment or as outreach support to the home. Medicare rebates available for those with a mental health treatment plan in line with Medicare policies.
Cognitive Assessment
The Wechsler Intellectual Scale for Children 5th Edition (WISC-V) is used to assess the cognitive processing strengths and weaknesses of a child as well as identifying intellectual disorders, learning disabilities and giftedness. A cognitive assessment includes a home-based background session, BASC-3 behavioural assessment, school-based WISC-V, assessment report and feedback session.

Educational Assessment
An Educational Assessment assesses the cognitive processing and academic strengths and weaknesses of a child, as well as identifying intellectual disorders, learning disabilities and giftedness. These assessments include a parent session to gain developmental history and current presentation, BASC-3 or Vineland-3 behavioural scale, WISC-V cognitive assessment, WIAT-III achievement assessment, assessment report and feedback session.

Behavioural Assessment
JB Psychology offers Behavioural Assessments, which include parent appointments, child appointments, and observational appointments in the home and/or school environments. A BASC-3 or Vineland-3 behavioural scale is also completed. These processes shape a written report and feedback session. These assessments are not diagnostic but provide recommendations for the home, school and further assessment.
